As a quick pre-Christmas get-together, a few friends joined me for dinner at Yeronga Thai. This small, tucked away Thai restaurant could be a new little gem of a find.
On Fairfield Rd, in a small shopping complex, it isn’t immediately obvious from the road, but there are numerous other stores in there to pull one in. With ample parking, this suburban restaurant is easily accessible.
A fairly standard Thai menu really, but lovely fresh ingredients really gave the cuisine an edge.
We started with Calamari (NOT drowned in batter), golden parcels and a tasty soup. A mix of shared mains consisting of lamb massaman curry, ginger chicken, garlic and pepper beef, and basil and garlic chicken satisfied all.
Don’t be put off by the very yellow coconut rice – well cooked and delicious.
Not convinced it’s worth travelling across town, but if you are in the Yeronga area, do yourself a favour and drop in. Or you could even take advantage of their take-away option.
All this for less than $100 for 4 people!! With a bottleshop nearby, this byo is well positioned.
