Tukka – Australian Cuisine, West End, Brisbane.

by Nick on August 2, 2007

Tukka in West End, Brisbane, describes itself as advanced Australian fare, and rightly so!

If you’ve ever watched the Bush Tucker Man, you’ll know where this is coming from.

The menu is a fantastic selection of Australian native flora and fauna – yes, including emu, possum, wallaby and kangaroo.

The Tukka menu truly picks from seasonal Australian native berries, plants and spices and the chefs are masters of their craft. The waitpersons are very knowledgable about the ingredients and complimentary wines.

They are licensed with an excellent wine list – all very complimentary to the exquisite tastes of the food.

Prices are high ($30-40), but well worth the experience.

Our only crticism was the waiting time for the meals – although you may forgive them for the amount of preparation that goes into the meals.

Food and atmosphere Rating: ★★★★★

Meal waiting time Rating: ★★☆☆☆

You’re right Shannon. The service was very slow – over an hour wait for meals.
