The Kranksy Sisters

by Larni on April 25, 2007

Hmmm, what to say about THE Kranksy Sisters…they are definitely unique.  A musical comedy trio who “hail” from Esk (between Toowoomba and Brisbane, nr Wivenhoe dam, I mean puddle).  They play a variety of interesting instruments including the timber saw, the first ever keyboard ever designed and a tuba, peppering their stories with appropriate songs.  Songs you and I would know from our youth, Highway from Hell for example…

When they first appeared on stage I was a little concerned to say the least.  They were deadpan, extremely conservatively dressed and have a morose delivery of their comedy.  Eve and Mourne are now joined by their sister Dawn after their other sister Ava chose other avenues of expression.  Ava and Dawn both studied tuba at Tafe Toowoomba, and what band is complete without a tuba player for goodness sakes.  I was soon laughing hysterically along with all those who had previously experienced their offbeat brand of humour.

Their comedy is easy to relate to, quirky and , most definitely, a joy to experience.

Well worth your time to seek them out!!

Sounds hilarious – I’ve heard of these girls before. Do they dress up in 50s frocks?
