The food at Mado is very enjoyable, typical of your standard turkish type meals. Lamb, yoghurt, kebabs, stuffed vine leaves, breads and dips make for a great meal.
The service, though, is a problem. Granted most of the wait staff were young and inexperienced, but at times it felt you were in the TAFE school of catering.
We really couldn’t help but laugh when one of the guests who started to order was abruptly told to “hang on a minute” while the waiter retrieved her pen and paper. She then proceeded to take another person’s order at the table. Strange.
Unfortunate also is the layout of the restaurant – it is in an office space with low ceilings and poor air-conditioning. Not great for an Australian summer.
Add to that small serves at high prices and…
Mado’s Fabulosity Factor? Sorry…but 35% (and I think I am being a bit generous).
