Cafe Mazah is a great little vegetarian cafe located opposite Santos (near the corner Stuart Rd). You could easily miss if you weren’t looking out.
Mullumbimby is a town known for its passion for healthy alternative living, and Cafe Mazah has a great selection of homemade vegetarian delights.
I sat down for lunch and enjoyed a delicious falafel stuffed pita roll with fresh salad and tahini. Just one word…perfect!
The flavours were fresh with plenty of zing…and made me wonder whether a second look at the menu may be in order!
If you are visiting Mullumbimby, drop in for a fantastic, flavoursome and healthy vegetarian lunch.
Also enjoy some of the artwork they have on display. The gallery is part of Solveig Gallery.

The Petit Snail in Byron Bay is an authentic French Restaurant with a fantastic seasonal menu.
We enjoyed a variety of delicious entrées, dinners and desserts, and were spoilt for choice.
You will find some favourites, like Escargots de Bourgogne (snails in garlic butter), and French Onion Soup. We also tried Foie Gras, French Country Style Paté and Duck a l’Orange.
The menu changes on a regular basis, so always check to see what they have on the Petit Snail menu.
All of the staff are French citizens who are enjoying living in Byron Bay. They are charming, friendly and amazingly efficient. All our meals arrived at the same time, and they knew who had what - what an pleasant surprise.
The owners, Dominique & Igor, will do their best to make you feel very welcome - vivacious and warm, you feel like you’re amongst old friends.
Bookings are essential.
If you’re single, you can book for one on special nights, and enjoy a shared table with a set course. Who knows, love may be just around the corner.

Ok, this is a must do.
Milk and Honey does the most amazing wood-fired pizzas.
The style is classic, with handmade thin crust that goes beautifully crunchy, and a thin layer of ingredients. There is no smothering of cheap and nasty cheese here.
Milk and Honey was packed out, which surprised us somewhat, being in the quiet town of Mullumbimby. Clearly the locals know this place is amazing.
There are no names to the pizzas, just a list of ingredients on a printed out piece of paper - great idea too - let them do what they do best. Classic Italian pizzas.
Prosciutto, ham and spicy salami make up the meatier dishes, and there is a great selection of vegetables such as pumpkin, eggplant and more. We also tried the apple and walnut salad - subtle and a fantastic compliment to a fiery pizza.
The ingredients are local and fresh (the basil was pungent), and the taste is amazing.
Mullumbimby is just a 5 min drive off the Pacific highway - take the time to drop in to Milk and Honey.

Fishheads seafood restaurant at Byron Bay is one of our favourites.
One thing is certain - there is a good selection of interesting seafood dishes, and it is always fresh.
Scallops, bugs, prawns, crabs, oysters…you name it, it’s there. And it’s not deep fried.
For those of you who don’t like seafood, try a steak, chicken or lamb shanks.
Meals are expensive ($20-$50), obviously due to the more exotic seafood and preparation. But it is worth it for a once in a while treat.
You may like to try a shared seafood platter for around $60.
Located at the top of Jonson St, the balcony overlooks the ocean at Main Beach, Byron Bay.
Also great place for breakfast and lunch, and you can watch the passing crowd.
Make sure you book - Fishheads seafood restaurant at Byron Bay is always busy - popular amongst visitors and locals.
